What is the maximum cable length of a Gigabit Ethernet connection?

Cable lengths of up to 100 meters are possible. Longer distances can be bridged using switches or routers. For 5GE cameras running on POE, 10 meters or less at 50%fps is required when running without heatsink. 10GE cameras will need Cat 6A or higher to achieve 100 meters.
